Not long ago we were up north getting some video and photos and decided to go to the Laughing Lizard Cafe in Gregory Town, Eleuthera. If you are going north it’s just up the hill past the cell tower on the right and if going south it’s on the left as you come down the hill after The Cove.
Below is the menu and having been here a few times the food is always wonderful. Petegay Hollinsed-Hartman is the owner as well as the chef and on the day we were there I had the Jam Rock Jerk which was delicious. Sid had the smashed Italian which she also enjoyed.
It’s a very laid back place with some cool funky decor and on the day we were there we spoke with Nick Holmes who had done this stingray from an old car hood. He explained that it wasn’t painted but the detail was done by removing various amounts of paint to create the circles on the stingray.
As you can see there are paintings, books, couches and it’s a great place to meet friends and have a leisurely lunch or drink.
How about a 360° view of the interior?
They have also started offer local produce from EIO Farm in Gregory Town as well and had we not just gone shopping a day earlier we would have purchased some of the items that they had in stock. You’ll also they are stocking items that you may not normally see around the Eleuthera such as the olives and Havarti cheese.
The second unit has an offering of meats, breads and more for you to take home.
I believe that they are open for lunch hours and if you want to make sure of their hours or what they have in stock give Petagay a call- 470-6992.
